About the instructor: Nadia is a highly skilled and experienced Spanish teacher with a diverse linguistic background. Born and raised in a Kabyle town in Algeria, she is fluent in Berber, French, and Arabic, and her enthusiasm for languages has helped her quickly learn Spanish and English since moving to the United States. After attending the University of California, Davis, where she studied Law and Society and International Relations, Nadia gained extensive experience in legal projects and programs, particularly in criminal defense. Her interest in language teaching and tutoring also led her to teach Spanish to preschoolers and kindergartners and currently, elementary and middle schoolers. Nadia believes that learning languages is crucial to understanding and communicating with people from diverse backgrounds, and she uses her language skills to help those who struggle with Spanish. Her passion for travel and experiencing different cultures further enhances her ability to bring a global perspective to her teaching.
About the class: The Beginner Spanish class is a fun and engaging course designed specifically for elementary school students aged between 7 and 11 years old who have little or no prior knowledge of the Spanish language.
During this course, students will learn basic vocabulary and concepts in a way that is accessible and easy to understand, making it perfect for young learners. Throughout the course, students will explore different topics that are relevant and interesting to them, such as introducing themselves and their friends, talking about their hobbies and interests, and describing their families. They will learn how to say simple phrases in Spanish, ask and answer questions, and engage in basic conversations.
Overall, the Beginner Spanish 1 class provides a fantastic opportunity for young learners to start exploring the Spanish language and culture in a fun and supportive environment, setting them up for success in their future language learning journeys.
