This course is designed for absolute beginners—students with no prior knowledge of Korean or only very minimal exposure. Whether you’re learning Korean for travel, cultural interest, K-dramas and music, heritage connection, or personal enrichment, this class offers a clear, supportive, and well-structured introduction to the language.
If you’re based in Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, or Napa, you can join from anywhere and begin building a strong foundation in Korean with expert guidance and interactive practice.
📖 What You’ll Learn
Students are introduced to the core building blocks of Korean through a balanced focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing. From the very first class, you’ll begin to:
Learn correct pronunciation and natural rhythm
Master the Korean alphabet (Hangul) step by step
Build essential vocabulary and basic grammar structures
Introduce yourself and form simple sentences
Communicate in everyday situations such as greetings, ordering food, and shopping
Lessons emphasize real communication, cultural context, and confidence-building, so you’re not just memorizing—but actually using Korean.

The Korean writing system (Hangul): reading and writing
Polite speech levels and basic sentence structure
Everyday vocabulary for food, travel, and daily life

A minimum of three students is required for the class to run the full six weeks.
If only two students enroll, the course will still run but will be shortened to five weeks.
