Italian Pronunciation & Phonetics
For Beginner & Low-Intermediate Learners
This focused pronunciation and phonetics course is designed for learners who already know some Italian but want to sound clearer, more natural, and more confident when they speak.
Over a series of structured, instructor-led sessions, students will work on the foundations of correct Italian pronunciation, learning how sounds, rhythm, and intonation really function in spoken Italian. No textbook is required — all materials are provided and lessons are highly interactive, practical, and listening-based.
The course is organized into two sets of six 1-hour classes. We will begin with the first set, and if interest continues, students will have the opportunity to continue seamlessly into the second set.
What We’ll Focus On
Each lesson centers on a specific pronunciation theme, including:
Italian intonation in statements vs. questions
Double consonants and why they matter
Tonic accent and word stress
The sounds of C and G (soft vs. hard)
Challenging sounds such as GL and GN
Common pronunciation traps for English speakers
Rhythm, flow, and clarity in spoken Italian
Who This Course Is For
Beginner and low-intermediate Italian learners
Students who feel understood but not confident in their pronunciation
Learners who want to reduce their accent and sound more natural
Anyone who wants to sharpen their listening and speaking skills
By the end of the course, students will have a stronger ear for Italian sounds, greater control over pronunciation, and a noticeably more natural speaking rhythm.
