For intermediate students ready to speak with more ease and confidence

Format: Online, small group (3–6 students)

👥Who This Course Is For
This class is designed for intermediate learners who want to boost their speaking skills in a fun, structured, and highly interactive environment. If you’re comfortable with the basics of Italian grammar and vocabulary but want more practice actually speaking, this class is for you. It’s perfect for students preparing for travel, seeking conversational confidence, or simply wanting to connect with Italian language and culture on a deeper level.

💬What You’ll Learn
The focus of this course is conversation—building the ability to express your thoughts clearly, respond naturally, and speak Italian with greater fluency and spontaneity. Each session revolves around engaging prompts and real-life topics, helping students gain confidence in everyday situations and cultural discussions.

We’ll review helpful vocabulary and grammar as needed, but most of our time will be spent speaking, listening, and interacting as a group.

🗣️Speaking themes may include:

  • Daily life in Italy: food, travel, and habits

  • Italian holidays and traditions

  • Personal interests and current events

  • Comparing cultures: Italy and the U.S.

  • Role-plays, debates, and storytelling

🎯What to Expect
Each session includes:

  • Structured speaking activities and role plays

  • Vocabulary support and pronunciation tips

  • Light grammar review when needed

  • Spontaneous conversation practice

  • Occasional short prep assignments to support in-class discussion

👩‍🏫About the Instructor
Francesca L. is a native of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in Italy’s northeastern corner. With a Master’s in Modern Languages and Literature from the University of Trieste and classical training in Latin and Ancient Greek, she brings depth and cultural richness to every lesson.

She has taught Italian at Stanford University’s Bechtel International Center and completed a teaching specialization from Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia. Francesca is known for her encouraging, engaging style that helps students speak up and enjoy learning.
