Online High Beginner German Saturday 9:00am - 10am PST (July 5th to August 9th) The class size is 3-6 students. Instructor: Anja

$260.00

This class will meet online from July 5th to August 9th.

The minimum number of students required per class is three. If only two students enroll, the class will still run but will be shortened to five weeks instead of the usual six.

About the instructor: Anja, a German native from Münster, started her teaching career in Germany after completing her BA. and M.A. degrees in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature. In 2005, she moved to North Carolina and completed her Ph.D. in German Literature. Since then, she has stayed in the academic world and taught German language, literature and culture classes. Anja believes in a communicative, student-centered approach to teaching, in which students not only feel comfortable using the target language but also engage with the language creatively. Anja enjoys designing personalized lesson plans in which humoristic elements always find their way.

About the class: High Beginner German is designed for students who have been learning the language for 6-8 months and are ready to advance their skills further. This course reinforces foundational grammar concepts while introducing more complex sentence structures and expanding practical vocabulary.

Students will focus on developing fluency across all language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Activities will include tasks such as describing past events, sharing opinions, expressing preferences, and engaging in everyday conversations.

As a bridge to Low-Intermediate German, this course helps learners move from basic understanding to a stronger, more confident command of the language, laying the groundwork for continued progress in German proficiency.
