About the Instructor
Anja, a native of Münster, Germany, has over 15 years of experience teaching German language, literature, and culture in both Germany and the U.S. After earning her B.A. and M.A. in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature, she moved to North Carolina in 2005 and completed her Ph.D. in German Literature.
Anja brings a student-centered, communicative approach to every class. Her lessons are known for being structured yet creative, and often infused with humor to keep students engaged. She enjoys crafting personalized lesson plans that challenge advanced learners while encouraging them to explore the language in real-world and intellectually stimulating contexts.
