Thuy Tu is a Hanoi-born Vietnamese educator with two decades of experience in language education and curriculum design.

Thuy Tu was born and raised in Hanoi and speaks standard Vietnamese at a native level. She earned an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and a Ph.D. in Multilingual and Multicultural Education from George Mason University in 2023. Her earlier study at Vietnam National University grounded her in Vietnamese linguistics, culture, and language pedagogy.
Across 20 years in Vietnam and the United States, she has developed curricula and tailored instruction for learners with varied needs. Since 2024 she has taught Vietnamese language and culture in intensive online and in-person settings for U.S.-based learners. She uses interactive, supportive lessons to address adult learners’ goals and challenges.

Learn Vietnamese in a live online class
Our listed complete and low beginner groups meet live online, giving you regular speaking and listening practice with a teacher. Compare the current class cards for dates, time, tuition, and level. An individual lesson is also listed by arrangement, with the instructor confirmed separately.
Vietnamese pronunciation and tones deserve attention from the start. A structured small group lets you practise sounds, useful phrases, and everyday exchanges while receiving feedback. Share any previous study if you are unsure which group fits.
